Provisioning Specialist II – Line Wired Circuits

 

 

Position Overview:

 

Manage complex and higher bandwidth type service orders from implementation to test and turn up. Will serve as point of contact between departments and vendors to ensure quality service in a timely manner. Will be responsible for provisioning statuses to all parties, including internal Sales and Upper Management, as to order status on a regular and as needed basis with the format, content and frequency as defined by published MBO’s. At the conclusion of the implementation, the Provisioning Specialist is responsible for closing out all paperwork, including but not limited to the forwarding of the billing information to the billing team, and scanning and archiving of the entire implementation package to ensure the service is inventoried and billed properly, and that lifecycle management can be easily performed on the installed service.

Responsibilities:

 

•  Receive order handoff from Sales.

•  Scrub order for accuracy; reject for any missing/incomplete information;

•  Upon receipt of complete order package, enters all ordering information into carrier ordering system.

•  Upon confirmation of order entry from carrier, enter all status and critical date information into Wholesale Carrier Services’ order tracking system (Quickbase); maintain journal of events in same as order progresses through identified milestones.

•  Continues to follow orders through provisioning process in carrier systems.

•  Escalates for resolution when critical events/dates are missed/delayed to insure service turn up on time as commitment by provisioning carrier.

•  Completes touch point (status) with VAR (Value Added Reseller), End-User customer according to product-specific timeline to ensure customer is kept aware of order progress in appropriate timeframe; ensure any deliverables/information owned by same is provided in a timely fashion so as not to impact overall due date commitments- if they are, order is to be placed in Jeopardy status, and all parties are to be formally notified that the committed due date is in jeopardy to be missed due to a missed commitment.

•  Coordinates vendor/customer acceptance testing with carrier both for intermediate (WCS accept from Carrier) and Final (customer accept from WCS) service acceptance.

•  Upon customer acceptance of service, forwards all necessary information for account creation to Billing team through order management system (Quickbase); insure Billing Start Date is set to be coincident with Wholesale Carrier Services’ acceptance of service from carrier.

•  Scans all documentation into archive system (DocStar) for future reference.

•  Project Management skills for coordination of implementation projects and carrier submitted orders. To include vendor coordination for wiring, Turn Up and any other third party date critical event.

•  Mentoring other provisioners.

•  Counseling and providing assistance in their area of expertise as business needs dictate.

 

Requirements:

•  One year certification from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•  In depth knowledge of all line wired circuits.

•  Complete understanding of all provisioning components for T-l’s and above, line wired circuits.

•  Understanding of Channel Facility Assignments (CFA’s), On- Net provisioning, switch interaction and Inventory Control.

•  Line number portability (LNP) standard practices and intervals. SIP and RTP VOIP provisioning. Knowledge of DIA (Dedicated Internet Access), MPLS, COS, MLPPP and Point to Point line wired circuits.

•  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.

•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•  Strong computer skills.
